A Herbal Sports Pack for Sale at the Club

A Herbal Sports Pack containing three useful creams put together for those actively engaged in contact sports either at amateur or professional level, prepared by a Medical Herbalist will be on sale shortly at the club. The pack consists of: --

Comfrey ointment Symphytum officinale is known to contain allantoin which can travel several centimetres through the skin and stimulate chondroblast, fibroblast and osteoblast activity, in other words soft tissue and bone repair. This is reflected in comfrey's other common name - "knitbone."

Arnica Cream Arnica Montana is traditionally used for treating bruises, neuralgia, sprains, rheumatic joints, aches and pains after excessive use in sports. First used by Swiss mountaineers who chewed the leaves to prevent sore and aching limbs. NOTE: not to be used internally.

Russian Ointment containing a mix of warming essential oils and stimulating tinctures, traditionally used for warming joints and muscles in preparation for physical activity, alo soothing for cold arthritic joints.

All of these products are prepared in small batches, using organic herbs and are designed to optimise recovery and training / competition in sport. Useful and safe for the young through to the veteran athlete.
